Simultaneous Effects: If two effects trigger simultaneously, the player whose turn it is chooses the order in which they resolve. Feel free to try out different starting life amounts to see what you find fun.
Starting Life: The rules specify that you should start at 10 life for each player in the game (so 20 in a two-player game). We have found that a little more life is probably good in a two-player game, and we recommend starting at 24 life.
Actions and Permanents: There are two Supertypes a card can have — Permanent and Action. Action cards have an immediate effect and then are discarded. Permanent cards remain in play and have ongoing effects.
Card Subtypes: There are many card Subtypes a card may have, including Hero, Exploit, Event, Location, Technology, and Organization.
Reserving Cards: You may only reserve at most one card each turn. There is no limit to the total number of cards you can have reserved at any time. You do not have to buy a card you reserve before buying cards from the center.
Life and damage: "If a card causes a player to lose life, it is treated the same way as taking damage. Cards that prevent damage would prevent this loss of life in the same way."
Multiple Permanents: There is no limit to the number of permanent cards you can have in play.
